Mazda CX-30 SUV Sarasota, FL

A Side-By-Side Comparison to Illustrate What Sets the Mazda CX-30 Apart from the Competition

There's a lot of reasons why Sarasota drivers prefer Mazda craftsmanship and style over other brands, and at Ed Howard Mazda, we're the local experts you can trust to introduce you to the full Mazda lineup. Our team helps people just like you every day to shop for and select the perfect Mazda model for their needs and helps them understand what makes Mazda superior to other brands that are out there.

Take our Mazda CX-30, for example. If you're searching around for a small SUV that's well equipped, eye-catching, and exciting to drive, this crossover may be the solution to your dreams. But we also know that other automotive brands include similarly sized SUVs in their collections as well. To make things easier on you and put the research you need right at the tip of your fingers, we've compared our CX-30 to a couple of competing models that are similar but different. Read on to learn a little more.

Mazda CX-30 vs. Toyota Corolla Cross

  • Passenger comfort. Both of these compact vehicles offer four-door style with two rows of seating and a five-passenger capacity. But the Mazda model that we carry has more wiggle room and more space to stretch out in, especially for your backseat passengers. The CX-30 has more than four extra inches of legroom in the rear seat than the Corolla Cross, and it has extra shoulder room and elbow room throughout the vehicle as well.
  • Power and performance. Mazda vehicles are renowned for their engaging handling and performance, and the CX-30 is a perfect example of why people enjoy cruising around town in a Mazda. With this model, you can look forward to two great engine choices and a power range of 186 to 250 horsepower, depending on which configuration you go for. But the Toyota Corolla Cross comes strictly with one sole engine, and it has less power, coming in at just 169 horsepower.
  • Safety features. While both of these models come with a comprehensive list of the latest safety amenities, the Mazda CX-30 has more, including the addition of a standard drowsy driver monitor, which issues an alert if it senses suspect that you're drowsy or falling asleep behind the wheel.

Mazda CX-30 vs. Hyundai Kona

  • Cargo space. Another entry into the compact SUV style, the Hyundai Kona once again seats five, has four doors, and comes with a rear cargo hold accessible via liftgate. But the Mazda CX-30 cargo hold is more spacious and useful than the Hyundai model. You can look forward to more than 20 cubic feet of cargo storage space behind the back row of the Mazda, with around 19 cubic feet in the Hyundai Kona.
  • Standard power. Once again, the Mazda delivers more of what drivers want, right out of the gate. Whereas the Hyundai base engine has 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque standard, the Mazda CX-30 has 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. From there, both SUVs have other options and choices available for power, but the Mazda starts out stronger.
  • Standard safety amenities. As with the Toyota comparison above, the competition can't keep up with the Mazda CX-30 in terms of safety features. Every Mazda in this lineup gets the drowsy driver monitor, adaptive cruise control, and more. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Kona gets a list of advanced driver's aids as well, but not one that's as comprehensive as the CX-30.
